Take calculated risks. That is quite different from being rash.
George S. Patton (1885 – 1945)

It was a long haul for a calculated risk. Almost 6000 miles back and forth across the wide expanse of America. What a beautiful drive! We have done it twice in the past year, taking a different route each time.

The work at the Scottsdale Arts Festival was terrific. What a well run show! Booth sitters, breakfast and lunch were all available, set up and break down were a breeze. The weather was pleasant and the booth was full of people much of the time. Lots of great contacts and interesting conversations. We were so busy that there wasn't a lot of time to visit with other artists much, but the few we had a chance to speak with were quite friendly and helpful. It was great to see our snowbird friends who live there now too!

We also had time to visit the Scottsdale Arts scene after show hours. Very interesting and inspiring work!

On the way back we detoured briefly to the Grand Canyon. 144 miles to watch the sunset! And so worth it!
