NYC NAWA the Met

November 14th, 2008

Well it was darned cool to see my paintings shining on a huge screen in the Metropolitan Museum in NYC. I had a moment of fearful cringing, thinking  that they might look blurry when blownup that large, but they still looked crisp and the color was good.
We had a whirlwind trip to the city. There was no time to do anything other than wander the halls of the Met, after a lovely celebratory lunch, visiting old friends, such as Ms. O'Keeffe,

and then then careen in a cab down to Fifth and 14th to the NAWA new members show. The quality of work was excellent in the tiny gallery.
I had to be back today to teach, hang Fran Bull's wonderful ink on paper show and to work on sculpture.
Another visit to the city in February if not before.
An excellent aspect of this was seeing my three nephews and one niece who now live in NYC. Paul couldn't come to the show but the others were there, which was a lovely moment.
