Ravens line their immense, twiggy nest with fur, creating a fascinating textural contrast between the smooth sheen of the eggs, the rough dry sculptural forms of the twigs, and the complex softness of the fur. Their eggs vary in color from a pale speckled pastel blue, to the same with a green hue.
Liza says: There is a raven's nest 60' up in a spruce at my uncles house in Santa Fe. It's been there for 15 years, and raises a lovely hatch of young, croaking ravens each spring.
The original acrylic painting is available.
Also available as a limited edition giclée reproduction.
