From an original watercolor painting by Liza Myers, this limited edition, signed and numbered giclee is all about the brilliant joyfulness of sunflowers, gardens, heat and celebration, especially on a Vermont summer day.
Liza writes: Every year I plant many different kinds of sunflowers in the garden. If the deer don't eat them we have lovely, celebratory color of great height. I stood in the sun in our garden and painted this watercolor, moving my easel as the light changed. So many artists have painted sunflowers: Van Gogh; O'Keeffe; Monet; Nolde. One year, after visiting Giverny, we put sunflower lined paths throughout our huge garden. The list of artists who have painted them is endless, because this simple, elegant subject is so inspiring.. The dance of light and transparency on petals is continually changing.
The original painting is SOLD, for more information about sunflower paintings, and commissions, please contact the gallery: jim@lizamyers.com
