Scott Kelly chose to soar

April 17th, 2016

One can never
consent to creep
outer space
when one feels
an impulse to soar.

Helen Keller

It’s been a long spring! Today we had snow AND hail AND sleet. These high desert spring days are completely unpredictable.

Against all odds, Helen Keller chose to soar above her very challenging limitations.

Scott Kelly chose to soar in outer space to help us understand how living in space affects the human body.

And now he’s  reentered the earth’s atmosphere.

And I feel as if I have re-entered the eARTh’s ARTmosphere ready to soar into NEW realms of creativity.

After months of one-armed, slow-slogging (since mid-December) I’m thrilled to be fully back at the easel, working on new paintings and on the rewards for my generous, WONDERFUL Kickstarter backers.

Here’s an update:

Liza, I’m so glad your shoulder is healing and you are on the way with PT beginning. I remember those days all too well! The good thing is that it does indeed pass.

Your painting is splendid. Perhaps you should see what you could paint in Northern Michigan this summer?!
